Great shorts!

Comfortable, Good Pockets, Durable, Good Fit
Best Uses:
Commuting, Mountain Biking, Long Rides
I bought these to replace my old Ponderosa shorts. These seemed to be a good combo of pockets and the removable inner short made sense. At first I was not sure that the chamois would work out, but after a couple of 30+ mile rides, I am totally satisfied that it will work fime for my touring. The pocket configuration was a bit curious to me at first. There is a zippered key pocket low on the right leg. The left lower leg pocket is a velcro flap type. The back pockets are called "map" pockets. These were the ones that I was not sure about, but after storing my wallet in one very securely, I am again satisfied that anything I put in there will remain in there. Not sure about their fitness to carry maps though. They tend to get a bit sweat soaked and paper goods get a bit wet after about 10 miles for me. Overall, these shorts appear to be very well built.

Great comfortable shorts

I've always been a padded lyrca kinda guy, commuting, messing around the street, or deep in the trails. Amazingly only gone through a few pairs over the years, but the last pair are getting holes, and I'd been wanting to try some MTB shorts, so I picked these up at the LBS. First thing, YOU MUST try them on. They run very small, almost 1.5 sizes small. I wound up getting a little too large, the internal shorts feel loose, but after warming up and riding a while, they fit fine. The outer pants still feel a little snug, almost as if the inner shorts are a little bigger than the outer shorts. But after riding several miles, they're comfortable and fit fine. No chafing, don't feel weird, padding feels very nice. Quite honestly, when you're just standing, the padding feels like a diaper, but that's because it's designed to be sat on a saddle, once you're seated it's all in the right places and it feels great. I wish the two main pockets were a LITTLE bigger, but there are 4 closed pockets, two "map" pockets (you sit on them, so not sure I'll really use them), and two zippers to let in some more air. They might be warm during the summer.. I've read that some people take the inner lyrca shorts out for summer riding, but they are where all of the padding is, so I'll probably just wait and see.
