In today’s fast-paced world of riseless flat bars and far-too-aggressive-for-our-liking cockpits, Surly harkens back to simpler times. They wanted a handlebar that would suffice for a relaxed cruise to a favorite windowless bar, but would also be suitable should a person decide to take the long way home. The Sunrise Bar is a cruiser bar, a trail bar, and a BMX bar all rolled into one. Surly's ExtraTerrestrial tires were designed to let you ride without limits by following a simple tenet for tire design: make 'em high-volume and kick-ass. The ExtraTerrestrial tire was meant to serve as a heavy-duty off road touring tire that shines on hard pack surfaces. It uses a nylon breaker in the sidewalls for cut protection, a molded pattern for anti-cut propagation, and a Kevlar cap under the tread to protect against flats. The ET tire uses a distinctly directional tread pattern and its width yields more traction than you might expect from a tire with such little rolling resistance. The tread is low profile with a file tread in between blocks. The ExtraTerrestrial tire has enough width and traction for the soft stuff and won't bog you down on smooth or hard surfaces. The 12mm slotted MDS dropout is the newest chip for Surly's MDS equipped trail frames. You like chips, don't you? The 12mm slotted dropout chip uses a standard derailleur mount for maximum compatibility and is made of cast and machined 6061-T6 aluminum, with a fender eyelet. What's the coolest part about the 12mm slotted MDS chip, you ask? The fact that it also has the capability to run a 12 x 142mm thru-axle in a single speed configuration. This is good news because single speeds are good news. When you get an MDS equipped frame you're getting the option to set it up however you want. You can run a 142 x 12mm thru-axle rear end with a direct mount Shimano hanger, standard 135mm QR or The Mighty Singlespeed. The way this will work is that Surly complete bikes that feature the MDS will ship with whatever chip is compatible with derailleur spec. For instance, the complete Instigator 2.0 ships with the 142 x 12mm thru-axle Shimano chip. If you want to change it to a singlespeed later (and why wouldn't you?), all you have to do is get the SS chip. Frames will ship with all three MDS chips so pick your poison. The 142 x 12mm and 135mm QR chips are made of cast and machined 6061-T6 aluminum and The Mighty Singlespeed chip is 304 stainless steel, because the two words 'aluminum' and 'singlespeed' should never be too close to each other. Bad things can happen…. As you can see, the MDS gives you not just different build options, it lets you use a more varied selection of parts for your frame up builds. The MDS is featured on most of our trail bikes. That's right: Krampus Ops, Karate Monkey Ops, Instigator 2.0 and Ice Cream Truck frames all sport these puppies.

It's designed for the Cross-Check's semi-horizontal front-loading dropouts, and will also work on many other similar dropouts. Hurdy Gurdy is investment cast of stainless steel for durability and good looks, and shares many of Tuggnut's design features. Its two axle holes allow for a wide variety of fore/aft wheel positions, it will work with standard QRs, bolted axles, and nutted axles up to 10mm.

Rated fully KICKASS by a very authoritative entity who will remain unnamed, Surly's cast and polished stainless steel clamps won't rust or chip paint because they can't (even the black ones!). They're shiny! They look good! And most importantly, they deliver the clampability seatposts crave.

While the other end provides stellar leverage and a bottle opener! That's two of the tools you need, in your pocket, all the time.

Surly Monkey Nuts v3 Dropout Spacers let you keep that rear wheel nice 'n' perpendicular in those horizontal dropouts, no matter how much of a diesel you are. So go ahead, stomp on the pedals and let the rooster tails fly. They're sold individually because most folks only need one on the drive side.

Whether for derailleur clamp clearance, tire clearance, or personal preference, sometimes it can be advantageous to run the wheel further back in the dropouts. Monkey Nuts install into Surly horizontal dropouts to make spacing the wheel back easy. There are 3 different sets depending on the type of dropout and axle configuration the dropout is intended for. Simply select the correct version of Monkey Nut, install it into the frame, and slam the wheel all the way forward. Bang, done.

These two black plates fit nice and snug between the chainstays of the newly redesigned Disc Trucker (2020 and newer), allowing you to bolt on the kickstand of your choice without gravely injuring your frame. Our other silver-colored Kickstand Plates remain the best option for legacy Trucker frames, so please don’t use the old plates with the new bike or the new plates with the old bikes. Surly made these handy plates for use with either the Long Haul or Disc Trucker frames, and only the Long Haul and Disc Trucker frames. They are to be used with a bicycle kickstand to keep your bicycle upright while not moving as if by magic. The plates consist of two halves that, when clamped on your frame in conjunction with a kickstand, protect your chainstays from hamfisting by sandwiching the frame between the plates.
